Fostering Inclusivity : Supporting Students with LD and ADHD
The Department of English (College) hosted a workshop for all faculty members of the College on ‘Fostering Inclusivity; Supporting Students with LD and ADHD.” It was an interactive and engaging session for the audience. Dr. Shazia Nasir was invited as the resource person. Most of Dr. Nasir’s research focuses on understanding the unique needs of students with LD and developing effective instructional strategies to enhance their academic outcomes.
Students from the Psychology Department at FCCU also joined the workshop and benefited from the knowledge shared. There was an interactive question and answer session and faculty members as well as the resource agreed that there was a dire need to change in the BISE examination system to facilitate students with LD. Different strategies were also discussed with teachers like giving work in chunks to such students, to offer them selective studies and to be compassionate to them.
At the end of the session respected Head of Department Ms. Eram George thanked the resource person and presented her a letter of thanks and a souvenir. HOD extended special thanks to Dr Ivan Suneel for his consent to arrange this workshop.
