Sports Department Holds 1st Intermediate Intramural Football Championship

The 1st FCCU Intermediate Intramural Football Championship was organized by the Sports Department, between October 16 to 23, 2019. This was part of an initiative by Vice Rector (I), Dr. Ivan Suneel Samuel to provide separate opportunities in sports to College students. 17 teams participated in this tournament comprising of 255 students from the College section at FCCU. The Football Championship included some very entertaining and thrilling matches and was witnessed by a large number of spectators comprising of both students and faculty, who enjoyed the tough competition between the teams. The teams were led by 17 Sports Advisors from amongst the Faculty and Hostel wardens.

The final of the tournament was played between Newton Hall Team and Computer Seniors Team. Newton Hall won the final match by 2-1. Head of the Urdu Department, Dr. Aneel Samuel was the Chief Guest at the match. In his address to the students, he stressed upon the students to continue taking interest in healthy activities and to follow rules and  to believe in fair play in sports, studies and life outside campus.
