Reports to: Head of Music Department
Supervising responsibility:
- Supervises the staff who cleans and care for the music room and office
Position requirements:
Minimum Education and Experience:
- BA/BS-Hons (16 years equivalent education) in Music with years’ experience of teaching music at an academic institute
- Has basic knowledge and understanding in Western Music to be able to teach
- Has been teaching music at a reputable academic institution for at least three years
- Has been experiencing to deal with the office work at and academic institute
Skills:
- Proficient in both English and Urdu Language
- Expert in playing one musical instrument (Preferably Piano/ Keyboard)
- Can sing skillfully in English and Urdu (even Punjabi)
- Has the acumen to teach the theory of Music
- Possesses the skills and understanding to guide and teach G11-12 male students
- Excellent time management skills
- Good organizing skills to manage office work
- Expert in documentation and handling with computers and IT skills regarding a managing events, scheduling, and cope with group of students
Job Purpose/Summary:
We have been teaching music since 2022, for all of Intermediate College by 3000 or more number of students. And besides we are holding 2 mega music events at the end of the year (Christmas Gala) and after winter break (Musical Recital). Not only for those mega events, we are covering most of the College event related musical part as preparing many small group performances including College Anthem preparation. Therefore, this position is needed for mainly support Music Faculties to teach music in a regular class, but also for holding various music events. In addition, to support the office work of documentations and student management.
Responsibilities:
- Will be learning music topics based on Western Classical Music from Faculty of music to teach properly beforehand
- Will teach some classes every day supervised by music faculties during the academic year of the College
- Will stay at the College from 8am to 4pm for work. And occasionally, there will be days are expected to stay beyond the College hours when we have mega music events etc.
- Upkeeping a music room and taking care of musical instruments in College
- Works with the event office for the booking of the halls for the rehearsals and final showcasing of the events
- Works with the College Student Activities office keenly to hold and support various events
- Will work on the stage supervised by music faculties in the time of every musical event
- Collaborates with the IT for the live streaming of the Annual musical recital
- Organizes music related activities for college students and also collaborating with other academic institutes to host such activities at Forman or other institutes.
- Understands, imparts and incorporates the core values and motto of the college
- Any other task assigned by the supervisor
