Position requirements:

Minimum Education:

  • Masters or equivalent 18 years of education in any of the following disciplines: Social Sciences (Psychology), Business, Statistics

Minimum Experience:

  • Two years of relevant Job or research experience

Skills:

  • Good Computer competency in MS Office (Word, Power Point and Excel)
  • Oral, Written and Reading Comprehension
  • Excellent presentation Skills
  • Effective communication and conflict management skills
  • Knowledge of and skills for developing assessment tools such as questionnaires
  • Knowledge of database systems and experience in using data analysis applications (such as SPSS)
  • Good command over interpretation of the analyses
  • Well versed with writing a comprehensive report based on the analyses
  • Knowledge of and skills to develop a dashboard
  • Understands and applies research ethics

Job Purpose/Summary:

The Assistant Manager, Assessment and Institutional Research is responsible for developing assessment tools, analyzing, interpreting data and creating reports for accurate, timely and internal and external audience with the goal for informed decision making and promoting quality in higher education at Forman Christian College.

Responsibilities:

General

  • Does a thorough assessment of the needs of the institution.
  • Based on those needs, plans, develops and executes assessments
  • Develops assessment tools to collect the data
  • Ensures that the projects are conceptually, methodologically, ethically and legally sound before executing them
  • Writing a clear proposal with clearly defined purpose and objectives
  • Collecting, cleaning, analyzing and interpreting the data
  • Writing a comprehensive report with some recommendations, based on the results
  • Store the data for reference or for further analyses on a quarterly or yearly basis
  • Point person to access and respond to the complaints on Prime Minister Portal

Academic Related

  • Collect and record of institutional data and maintain database of it (quarterly and yearly)
    • Graduate student dataset
    • Retained student dataset
    • Alumni dataset
    • Financial dataset
    • Placement of graduated student dataset
    • Any other developed
  • Collect and report the official institutional statistics to internal audience such as vice rector, executive staff, committees, academic and support departments; and BOD.
    • Graduation stats
    • Retention stats
    • Faculty stats
    • Staff stats
    • Other facts and figures
  • Prepare data analysis and assessment reports for internal audience (rector, executive staff, etc.) and the board of directors (list is not limited).
    • Grade distribution analysis reports
    • Graduation and retention analysis reports
    • Ad-hoc assessment and analysis reports for decision support and promoting students learning
  • Prepare reports for external audience and coordinate with different departments on campus to submit data to government or non-government agencies requiring institutional data
  • Write and distribute survey reports findings (list not limited):
    • HSSS – Hostel Satisfaction Survey
    • ISSS – Intermediate Student Satisfaction Survey
    • Analysis between the matric result and intermediate result
    • Analysis between first year and second year results
    • Analysis between the overall results of different subjects of one category
    • Analysis of matirc and intermediate results across hostel and day scholars
    • Analysis between graduated students and the universities they get admitted to
    • Analysis of first year and second year results department wise
    • Analysis of results of day scholars and hostel students
    • Analysis of the results between preboard results and the board results
    • MSS – Matriculated Student Survey
    • Any other survey developed and reported
  • Assist in Calculate admission criteria, annually update it, audit merit list and reports findings to the vice rector and other administrative staff.
  • Prepare reports for Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Lahore and respond to the data request from them.

Faculty and Staff

  • Needs assessment of the faculty and staff and then reports to VR and HR to organize the trainings
  • Analyses of workload, quality of work by comparing it with other faculty (staff) members within the department, with faculty members of other departments
  • Analyses of BISE results within the department and with other departments and across sections
  • The job description is not limited; work on any other tasks may be assigned by the authorities.
