Job Title: Volleyball Coach

Department: Health & Physical Education, College

Reports to: Head of Department

Supervising responsibility: None

Position requirements:
Minimum Education: 14 years equivalent education
Minimum Experience: 3 years of relevant work experience, candidates with prior competitive or coaching experience specifically in volleyball, at the school, college, or club level, will be given preference.

Job Purpose/Summary:
To help our students improve their volleyball skills and physical performance, increase participation in the sport, and represent Forman at different volleyball forums and competitions.

Requirement
The coach should be physically fit, have excellent communication skills, possess strong knowledge and playing experience of volleyball, and have good management and leadership skills. Moreover, they should possess good computer skills.

Responsibilities
A. Coaching & Skill Development
• Help the students to learn and develop the fundamentals of volleyball
• Train the students to improve their volleyball performance and technique
• Conduct regular fitness and skill assessments to track student progress in volleyball
• Assessing performance of the students and giving feedback
• Identify suitable competitions for the students and train them to compete
B. Training Planning & Organization
• Planning and preparing for training sessions and activities.
• Organize and supervise structured pre-season, in-season, and post-season training schedules
• Maintain volleyball equipment, nets, and court facilities in proper working condition, and report maintenance needs promptly
C. Team Management & Selection
• Selecting and preparing the volleyball team for matches
• Responsible for assessing and selecting students to be part of the Forman Volleyball team
• Ensuring all players get equal opportunity to take part in all team activities.
• Mentor senior students to take on leadership roles within the team, such as team captain
• Maintain accurate attendance and performance records for all team members
D. Sportsmanship, Values & Discipline
• Demonstrating and inculcating sportsman spirit in the students
• Teaching and training the students to participate and work as a team
• Training them to perform at their best under stress
• Teach them to respect other players, even in the face of disagreement
• Train the students to manage conflict and communicate effectively
• Educating players in the ethos of their game and the values of being a true sportsman.
• Demonstrates and inculcates core values of Forman
• Gets the proctorial office involved if there are discipline related issues such as a fight
E. Events & Representation
• Responsible for the volleyball events during the annual sports week
• Representing Forman at other schools and inviting other schools to Forman for the purpose of volleyball matches
• Liaise with the Head of Department to coordinate fixtures, tournaments, and inter-collegiate volleyball matches
F. Safety & Reporting
• Taking immediate action if a student gets injured by calling MHC or 1122
• Gives the report of the students’ performance to the advisors
G. Physical Training & Character Building
• Conduct physical training sessions for students, including warm-up, stretching, running, and other conditioning exercises
• Deliver periodic lectures/talks aimed at building strong character in students, aligned with and reinforced through physical training
