Department of Visual & Performing Arts (music)

The Department of Visual and Performing Arts, Forman Christian College was established since 2022 to provide a learning experience of western context music – theory and practice: ‘General music’ to be able to keep up with the international standard in music education. The arts of music could be another way to perceive the world and express oneself in a fundamental sense. In the aspect of affective experience and educating feelings for students, music has a unique and special portion in it. Learning & doing music is important for human intellectual development as well as for improving the quality of one’s life. All the dynamics and phenomena have been dealt with in diverse academia including psychology, brain science, and education, etc. And it is expected to enhance not only musical knowledge and skills in the classroom, but also to expand their learning on the stage in a real sense. Theoretical and practical knowledge encourages the student to bring up their confidence to show out in a performing arts dimension with the actual musical performances; College mega events and other official stages we have.
