FCCU Celebrates Pi Day
The Intermediate section of Forman Christian College ( A Chartered University ) celebrated Pi Day on 14 March 2019. The event was organized by Lecturer of Mathematics, Ms Sana Bhatti. Intermediate Vice Rector, Prof CJ Dubash was the chief guest of the event. It is celebrated on March 14th ( 3/14 ) around the world. Pi ( Greek letter π ) is the symbol used in Mathematics to represent a constant the ratio of a circumference of a circle to its diameter which is approximately 3.14159…
The value of the number Pi has been calculated to a new world record length of 31 trillion digits, far past the previous record of 22 trillion.

The following activities at FCCU took place in honor of Pi Day:
- Presentation on history and facts of Pi.
- Pi digits memorization contest
- Pi eating contest
- The power of Mathematics how Mathematics plays a vital role in all subjects
- The ultimate lesson of ‘The life of pi’
- Q /A session
It was a great opportunity for students to exhibit their Mathematical skills and enjoyed the fun-filled learning.
