The Department cherishes a great reputation as being part of the FCCU’s prestigious status. The Department continues to strive for excellence in teaching and innovation. In November 2010, Intermediate program was segregated from University. This enabled the Intermediate Program at FCCU to grow with more vigor. History and Pakistan Studies also became an independent department as part of the Intermediate Program at FCCU.
While the program follows the Punjab government’s syllabus, our department is always striving to incorporate novel methods of teaching such as the incorporation of technology-based teaching and learning. Moreover, teaching approaches include classroom tests, group work, context-driven lectures, and concept-based learning sessions. Sufficient prospects are offered to students for formative evaluation with prompt feedback. At the Department, we believe that tech-based learning can be more effective in achieving not only good grades but also inculcating learning culture among students. We plan to continue this tradition.
Pakistan Studies curriculum focuses mostly on the agenda of the Pakistan movement and some major policy measures which the country has taken over the last seventy years ranging from women rights to foreign policy. The curriculum of History focuses mostly on the nineteenth and twentieth-century scholarship concerning the idea of Pakistan. Our department is planning to add Modern World History as an elective subjective in coming years to provide our students an opportunity to study the worldwide events those took place in the 1st and 2nd World Wars and reshaped the world after 1945.
The department has a great record of producing outstanding results with passing percentage touching almost 100 percent along with organizing curricular and activities for students under the auspices of History and Pakistan Studies Society.
Our department’s motto is STUDENT FIRST.
